GII celebrates 53rd Anniversary

GII was founded on 12th April, 1971 by five visionaries namely Kirtibhai Doshi, Pravinbhai Nanavati, Padmakantbhai Jhaveri, Himmatbhai Jhaveri & Rajendrabhai A. Shah. GII, with a humble beginning, has grown into a full-fledged Institution fulfilling its main objectives:             1. Testing & Certifying Colour Stones, 2. Origin determination of Rubies, Emeralds & Sapphires, 3. Grading of Diamonds, 4. Developing human resources through its well established training methods, 5. Carrying out R&D in Gem and Diamond related areas and 6. Serving G&J industry by developing  simple equipment like Q-Chk, D-Vision Pro and UV based decontamination units.

In a simple function was  arranged  on  the occasion of 53rd anniversary in Mehta Bhavan today.  Shri Nitinbhai Pachchigar, Shri Bhagawatibhai Patel, Shri Shripalkumar N. Desai and Dr. AVR Reddy addressed employees and students.

Shri Nitinbhai told that he has been associated with GII   since its founding in 1971, seen its progress and is very happy with the dedicated contributions of employees. Similar views were expressed by Shri Bhagawatibhai Patel & Shri S.N. Desai. Dr. Reddy thanked the three trustees and urged colleagues to continue to work hard for providing timely quality services and certificates. He also informed that in an years time, NABL certificate might be available for GII. Shri Anoopbhai Mehta, Chairman, GII could not attend and he sent a message to employees and trainees which was read by Dr. Reddy.

On this occasion, GII presented the diploma certificates to the candidates of the current batch. Dr. Reddy appreciated faculty members for brilliant teaching and providing hands on training. He congratulated students and faculty members  for 100% pass result. In every batch one or two candidates from countries like Mauritius attend and so is in this batch. All the students expressed gratitude to faculty members. Mr. Mooraby told that he would use the knowledge and hands on experience in characterising different colour stones gained during this course would be highly useful in his future career in Mauritius.

Shri Nitinbhai, while appreciating them, said that he was pleased with the quality of training provided by GII. He shared with all that most of the past students became entrepreneurs rather than employees, and thus GII has been contributing with developing quality human resources to G&J trade and industry. Shri Bhagawatibhai and Shri Desai echoed similar sentiments. On this occasion, all the candidates were provided with a memento each besides diploma certificate.
