Largest Rare Pink Diamond, “The Lulo Rose” mined from Africa

Lulo Mine is a diamond rich mine located in the  Northeast region of Angola. A big pink diamond weighing about 170-carat was discovered in Angola, Africa, named as  “The Lulo Rose” and is claimed to be the largest pink diamond found in 300 years.  Pink diamonds are rare and tested as Type IIa. It is believed to be the largest pink diamond mined since the 185-carat cut and polished “Daria-i-Noor” diamond, mined in Kollur Mine in Andhra Pradesh, India

Lucapa Diamond Company

This rare pink diamond is currently owned by Australia’s Lucapa Diamond Company with Angolan government as partners. The value of the diamond is still unknown, since it has to be cut and polished where it will lose about 50 percent of its weight, but owners are expecting to fetch a high price as a similar type pink diamond, “Pink Star” was sold for 71.2 million USD at Hong Kong auction in 2017.
